Jeffrey Pino Prizes are awarded

The Martian rover model developed by 14-year-old Wojciech Koszelski won him a prize in the Jeffrey Pino technical competition 'Young construction engineer - I am changing reality, I am changing the world'.

 

The competition was organised by Polskie Zaklady Lotnicze (the Polish Aviation Works) in cooperation with the Practical Education and Teacher Training Centre in Mielec. 8th Mielec Science and Technology Festival was the perfect opportunity make the awards ceremony.

 

 

Winners of the first edition

Wojciech Koszelski, construction engineer of a radio-controlled Martian rover is the winner of the first edition of the Jeff Pino competition. The originality of this project consists in the fact that each of its six wheels has independent drive. The second prize was awarded to Bartosz Polak for an unmanned craft model, whereas the third prize went to Mikolaj Madej with a low-voltage wind farm model. All three winners are students of Junior High School No. 2 in Mielec.

 

PZL Mielec was the sponsor of financial bonuses and prizes for the students as well as the school and the tutor of the talented 14-year-olds.

 

 

The idea of the competition

The competition was announced by the Polish Aviation Works in cooperation with CKPiDN. Its target was the generation of young fiends of technology and construction.  The idea of the competition is to promote young talents and encourage development of passion for technology among young people. The competition consists in independent development of an interesting construction, using innovative solutions.
